Key highlights of the tourism statistics report for December 2025:

  • Total international tourist arrivals and arrivals from ASEAN decreased 16.9% and 34.5% YoY to 5,569,752 visitors and 2,773,060 visitors respectively, in 2025, representing recovery rates of 84.3% and 124.5%, respectively compared to 2019. For the month of December 2025, total international tourist arrivals and arrivals from ASEAN recorded sequential MoM decreases of 6.1% and 3.7% to 396,911 visitors and 150,067 visitors, respectively, compared to the month of November 2025
  • Of the top 10 markets, Vietnam was the leader at 21.9%, followed by China (21.6%), Thailand (18.4%), U.S.A (3.7%), Korea (2.7%), Indonesia (2.7%), France (2.4%), Lao PDR (2.4%), U.K (2.3%) and Japan (1.9%)
  • These top 10 markets accounted for 80.0% of total tourist arrivals, a decrease of 20.5% YoY to 4,456,557 visitors in 2025
  • Arrivals by air increased 19.2% YoY to 2,857,716 visitors, while arrivals by land / waterways decreased 37.0% YoY to 2,712,036 visitors in 2025, representing recovery rates of 64.9% and 118.3% respectively, compared to 2019. For the month of December 2025, arrivals by air and arrivals by land / waterways saw sequential MoM decreases of 9.0% and 0.4% to 254,181 visitors and 142,730 visitors respectively compared to the month of November 2025
  • Arrivals via Phnom Penh International Airport increased 20.6% YoY to 2,114,234 visitors in 2025, representing a recovery rate of 102.0% compared to 2019. For the month of December 2025, arrivals via Phnom Penh International Airport saw a sequential MoM decrease of 7.1% to 173,930 visitors compared to the month of November 2025
  • Arrivals from China increased 41.5% YoY to 1,201,681 visitors in 2025, representing a recovery rate of 50.9% compared to 2019. For the month of December 2025, arrivals from China saw a sequential MoM decrease of 7.6% to 96,729 visitors compared to the month of November 2025
  • International business-related travels to Cambodia increased 11.4% YoY to 1,551,791 visitors in 2025, with the top 5 markets coming from China (47.7%), Vietnam (18.7%), Indonesia (6.4%), Thailand (3.8%) and Taiwan (3.4%), representing a recovery rate of 113.2% compared to 2019. For the month of December 2025, international business-related travels into Cambodia saw a sequential MoM decrease of 13.4% to 110,398 visitors compared to the month of November 2025
  • International business-related travels coming from China (which comprise 61.6% of total arrivals from China) increased 26.6% YoY to 739,709 visitors in 2025, representing a recovery rate of 70.7% compared to 2019. For the month of December 2025, international business-related travels coming from China saw a sequential MoM decrease of 15.7% to 53,480 visitors compared to the month of November 2025

Key highlights of the tourism statistics report for December 2024:

  • Total international tourist arrivals increased by 22.9% YoY to 6,700,125 visitors and arrivals from ASEAN increased by 19.2% YoY to 4,235,631 visitors in 2024, representing recovery rates of 101.4% and 190.1% respectively compared to the same period in 2019. For the month of December 2024, total international tourist arrivals and arrivals from ASEAN were 699,068 and 436,263 visitors, representing a sequential increase of 11.6% and 19.2% respectively compared to the month of November 2024
  • Of the top 10 markets, Thailand was the highest at 32.0%, followed by Vietnam (20.0%), China (12.7%), Lao PDR (5.0%), U.S.A (3.2%), Korea (2.9%), Indonesia (2.5%), France (2.0%), U.K (1.7%) and Japan (1.7%)
  • These top 10 markets accounted for 83.6% of total tourist arrivals, an increase of 23.6% YoY to 5,603,894 visitors in 2024
  • Arrivals via air and land / waterways increased by 28.4% YoY to 2,396,937 visitors and 20.0% YoY to 4,303,188 visitors in 2024, representing recovery rates of 54.4% and 195.0% respectively compared to the same period in 2019. For the month of December 2024, arrivals via air and land / waterways were 244,744 visitors and 454,324 visitors, representing a sequential increase of 0.8% and 18.5% respectively compared to the month of November 2024
  • Arrivals via Phnom Penh International Airport increased by 28.3% YoY to 1,752,583 visitors in 2024, representing a recovery rate of 84.6% compared to the same period in 2019. For the month of December 2024, arrivals via Phnom Penh International Airport was 165,082 visitors, representing a sequential increase of 1.3% compared to the month of November 2024
  • Arrivals from China increased by 55.0% YoY to 848,952 visitors in 2024, representing a recovery rate of 35.9% compared to the same period in 2019. For the month of December 2024, arrivals from China was 79,177 visitors, representing a sequential increase of 1.5% compared to the month of November 2024
  • International business-related travels into Cambodia increased by 37.8% YoY to 1,393,198 visitors in 2024, with the top 5 markets coming from China (41.9%), Vietnam (21.8%), Indonesia (8.2%), Thailand (5.3%) and Taiwan (3.4%), representing a recovery rate of 101.6% compared to the same period in 2019
  • International business-related travels coming from China increased by 48.2% YoY to 584,138 visitors in 2024, representing a recovery rate of 55.8% compared to the same period in 2019
