Key highlights of the tourism statistics report for September 2025:

  • Total international tourist arrivals and arrivals from ASEAN decreased 8.8% and 24.7% YoY to 4,377,466 visitors and 2,310,302 visitors respectively, in the first nine months of 2025, representing recovery rates of 90.9% and 153.4% respectively compared to the same period in 2019. For the month of September 2025, total international tourist arrivals recorded a sequential MoM decrease of 3.3% to 327,239 visitors, while arrivals from ASEAN recorded a sequential MoM increase of 4.1% to 146,349 visitors, compared to the month of August 2025
  • Of the top 10 markets, Thailand was the leader at 22.4%, followed by Vietnam (20.7%), China (20.3%), U.S.A (3.4%), Korea (2.9%), Lao PDR (2.9%), Indonesia (2.6%), France (2.3%), U.K (2.2%) and Japan (1.8%)
  • These top 10 markets accounted for 81.4% of total tourist arrivals, a decrease of 11.9% YoY to 3,564,264 visitors in the first nine months of 2025
  • Arrivals by air increased 22.4% YoY to 2,084,036 visitors, while arrivals by land / waterways decreased 26.0% YoY to 2,293,430 visitors in the first nine months of 2025, representing recovery rates of 61.4% and 161.5% respectively, compared to the same period in 2019. For the month of September 2025, arrivals by air saw a sequential MoM decrease of 8.4% to 203,344 visitors compared to the month of August 2025. On the contrary, arrivals by land / waterways saw a sequential MoM increase of 6.5% to 123,895 visitors in September 2025, compared to the month of August 2025
  • Arrivals via Phnom Penh International Airport increased 22.4% YoY to 1,576,421 visitors in the first nine months of 2025, representing a recovery rate of 100.5% compared to the same period in 2019. For the month of September 2025, arrivals via Phnom Penh International Airport saw a sequential MoM decrease of 6.7% to 160,369 visitors compared to the month of August 2025
  • Arrivals from China increased 46.3% YoY to 889,089 visitors in the first nine months of 2025, representing a recovery rate of 47.7% compared to the same period in 2019. For the month of September 2025, arrivals from China saw a sequential MoM increase of 6.8% to 104,124 visitors compared to the month of August 2025
  • International business-related travels to Cambodia increased 17.1% YoY to 1,187,226 visitors in the first nine months of 2025, with the top 5 markets coming from China (46.8%), Vietnam (19.2%), Indonesia (6.3%), Thailand (4.4%) and Taiwan (3.5%), representing a recovery rate of 107.8% compared to the same period in 2019. For the month of September 2025, international business-related travels into Cambodia saw a sequential MoM increase of 15.1% to 127,282 visitors compared to the month of August 2025
  • International business-related travels coming from China (which comprise 62.5% of total arrivals from China) increased 31.1% YoY to 555,717 visitors in the first nine months of 2025, representing a recovery rate of 64.9% compared to the same period in 2019. For the month of September 2025, international business-related travels coming from China saw a sequential MoM increase of 29.8% to 63,824 visitors compared to the month of August 2025

Key highlights of the tourism statistics report for December 2024:

  • Total international tourist arrivals increased by 22.9% YoY to 6,700,125 visitors and arrivals from ASEAN increased by 19.2% YoY to 4,235,631 visitors in 2024, representing recovery rates of 101.4% and 190.1% respectively compared to the same period in 2019. For the month of December 2024, total international tourist arrivals and arrivals from ASEAN were 699,068 and 436,263 visitors, representing a sequential increase of 11.6% and 19.2% respectively compared to the month of November 2024
  • Of the top 10 markets, Thailand was the highest at 32.0%, followed by Vietnam (20.0%), China (12.7%), Lao PDR (5.0%), U.S.A (3.2%), Korea (2.9%), Indonesia (2.5%), France (2.0%), U.K (1.7%) and Japan (1.7%)
  • These top 10 markets accounted for 83.6% of total tourist arrivals, an increase of 23.6% YoY to 5,603,894 visitors in 2024
  • Arrivals via air and land / waterways increased by 28.4% YoY to 2,396,937 visitors and 20.0% YoY to 4,303,188 visitors in 2024, representing recovery rates of 54.4% and 195.0% respectively compared to the same period in 2019. For the month of December 2024, arrivals via air and land / waterways were 244,744 visitors and 454,324 visitors, representing a sequential increase of 0.8% and 18.5% respectively compared to the month of November 2024
  • Arrivals via Phnom Penh International Airport increased by 28.3% YoY to 1,752,583 visitors in 2024, representing a recovery rate of 84.6% compared to the same period in 2019. For the month of December 2024, arrivals via Phnom Penh International Airport was 165,082 visitors, representing a sequential increase of 1.3% compared to the month of November 2024
  • Arrivals from China increased by 55.0% YoY to 848,952 visitors in 2024, representing a recovery rate of 35.9% compared to the same period in 2019. For the month of December 2024, arrivals from China was 79,177 visitors, representing a sequential increase of 1.5% compared to the month of November 2024
  • International business-related travels into Cambodia increased by 37.8% YoY to 1,393,198 visitors in 2024, with the top 5 markets coming from China (41.9%), Vietnam (21.8%), Indonesia (8.2%), Thailand (5.3%) and Taiwan (3.4%), representing a recovery rate of 101.6% compared to the same period in 2019
  • International business-related travels coming from China increased by 48.2% YoY to 584,138 visitors in 2024, representing a recovery rate of 55.8% compared to the same period in 2019
