Key highlights of the tourism statistics report for November 2024:

• Total international tourist arrivals increased by 22.0% YoY to 6,001,057 visitors and arrivals from ASEAN increased by 18.2% YoY to 3,799,368 visitors in the first eleven months of 2024, representing recovery rates of 101.7% and 196.8% respectively compared to the same period in 2019. For the month of November 2024, total international tourist arrivals and arrivals from ASEAN were 626,319 and 366,033 visitors, representing a sequential increase of 9.1% and 0.02% respectively compared to the month of October 2024
• Of the top 10 markets, Thailand was the highest at 31.9%, followed by Vietnam (20.1%), China (12.8%), Lao PDR (5.1%), U.S.A (3.2%), Korea (2.9%), Indonesia (2.6%), France (1.9%), U.K (1.7%) and Japan (1.7%)
• These top 10 markets accounted for 83.9% of total tourist arrivals, an increase of 22.8% YoY to 5,032,405 visitors in the first eleven months of 2024
• Arrivals via air and land / waterways increased by 28.6% YoY to 2,152,193 visitors and 18.6% YoY to 3,848,864 visitors in the first eleven months of 2024, representing recovery rates of 53.1% and 208.4% respectively compared to the same period in 2019. For the month of November 2024, arrivals via air and land / waterways were 242,906 visitors and 383,413 visitors, representing a sequential increase of 17.6% and 4.3% respectively compared to the month of October 2024
• Arrivals via Phnom Penh International Airport increased by 28.7% YoY to 1,587,501 visitors in the first eleven months of 2024, representing a recovery rate of 83.7% compared to the same period in 2019. For the month of November 2024, arrivals via Phnom Penh International Airport was 163,026 visitors, representing a sequential increase of 2.2% compared to the month of October 2024
• Arrivals from China increased by 54.5% YoY to 769,775 visitors in the first eleven months of 2024, representing a recovery rate of 35.3% compared to the same period in 2019
• International business-related travels into Cambodia increased by 37.8% YoY to 1,279,328 visitors in the first eleven months of 2024, with the top 5 markets coming from China (41.9%), Vietnam (21.7%), Indonesia (8.4%), Thailand (5.3%) and Taiwan (3.4%), representing a recovery rate of 98.4% compared to the same period in 2019
• International business-related travels coming from China increased by 48.5% YoY to 536,667 visitors in the first eleven months of 2024, representing a recovery rate of 53.7% compared to the same period in 2019

Key highlights of the tourism statistics report for December 2023:

• Total international tourist arrivals increased by 139.5% to 5,453,231 visitors and arrivals from ASEAN increased by 121.4% to 3,549,025 visitors in 2023. For the month of December 2023, total international tourist arrivals was 535,788 visitors, representing a sequential increase of 5.0%, while arrivals from ASEAN was 334,772 visitors, representing a sequential increase of 6.3% compared to the month of November 2023
• Of the top 10 markets, Thailand was the highest at 33.4%, followed by Vietnam (18.7%), China (10.0%), Lao PDR (6.8%), U.S.A (3.4%), Korea (3.1%), Indonesia (2.3%), France (2.0%), U.K (1.8%), and Malaysia (1.6%)
• These top 10 markets accounted for 83.1% of total tourist arrivals, an increase of 138.2% to 4,533,997 visitors in 2023
• Arrivals via air and land / waterways increased by 135.8% to 1,866,231 visitors and 141.5% to 3,587,000 visitors in 2023 respectively. For the month of December 2023, arrivals via air and land / waterways were 193,108 and 342,680 visitors representing a sequential increase of 8.7% and 3.0% respectively compared to the month of November 2023
• Arrivals via Phnom Penh International Airport increased by 124.0% to 1,365,735 visitors in 2023. For the month of December 2023, arrivals via Phnom Penh International Airport was 131,985 visitors, representing a sequential increase of 9.7% compared to the month of November 2023
• Arrivals from China increased by 412.6% to 547,798 visitors in 2023. For the month of December 2023, arrivals from China was 49,548 visitors, representing a sequential increase of 10.9% compared to the month of November 2023
• International business-related travels into Cambodia increased by 134.6% to 1,011,274 visitors in 2023, with the top 5 markets coming from China (39.0%), Vietnam (21.2%), Indonesia (8.8%), Thailand (7.2%) and Taiwan (3.4%)
• International business-related travels coming from China increased by 407.8% to 394,042 visitors in 2023. For the month of December 2023, international business-related travels coming from China was 32,691 visitors, representing a sequential increase of 4.9% compared to the month of November 2023
