Key highlights of the tourism statistics report for July 2024:

• Total international tourist arrivals increased by 23.2% YoY to 3,742,230 visitors and arrivals from ASEAN increased by 21.2% YoY to 2,361,658 visitors in the first seven months of 2024, representing recovery rates of 97.4% and 204.5% respectively compared to the same period in 2019. For the month of July 2024, total international tourist arrivals and arrivals from ASEAN were 575,733 and 116,678 visitors, representing a sequential increase of 9.6% and 7.0% respectively compared to the month of June 2024
• Of the top 10 markets, Thailand was the highest at 30.7%, followed by Vietnam (20.2%), China (12.4%), Lao PDR (6.0%), U.S.A (3.5%), Korea (3.1%), Indonesia (2.5%), France (2.0%), U.K (1.9%) and Japan (1.7%)
• These top 10 markets accounted for 84.0% of total tourist arrivals, an increase of 24.8% YoY to 3,144,427 visitors in the first seven months of 2024
• Arrivals via air and land / waterways increased by 26.4% YoY to 1,346,092 visitors and 21.5% YoY to 2,396,138 visitors in the first seven months of 2024, representing recovery rates of 49.2% and 216.7% respectively compared to the same period in 2019. For the month of July 2024, arrivals via air and land / waterways were 194,202 visitors and 381,531 visitors, representing a sequential increase of 17.4% and 6.0% respectively compared to the month of June 2024
• Arrivals via Phnom Penh International Airport increased by 24.4% YoY to 985,041 visitors in the first seven months of 2024, representing a recovery rate of 78.3% compared to the same period in 2019. For the month of July 2024, arrivals via Phnom Penh International Airport was 153,510 visitors, representing a sequential increase of 15.8% compared to the month of June 2024
• Arrivals from China increased by 45.7% YoY to 463,980 visitors in the first seven months of 2024, representing a recovery rate of 30.9% compared to the same period in 2019. For the month of July 2024, arrivals from China was 74,620 visitors, representing a sequential increase of 17.8% compared to the month of June 2024
• International business-related travels into Cambodia increased by 29.9% YoY to 769,972 visitors in the first seven months of 2024, with the top 5 markets coming from China (42.1%), Vietnam (21.0%), Indonesia (8.9%), Thailand (5.4%) and Taiwan (3.5%), representing a recovery rate of 91.8% compared to the same period in 2019. For the month of July 2024, international business-related travels into Cambodia was 116,678 visitors, representing a sequential increase of 7.0% compared to the month of June 2024
• International business-related travels coming from China increased by 38.3% YoY to 324,072 visitors in the first seven months of 2024, representing a recovery rate of 49.2% compared to the same period in 2019. For the month of July 2024, international business-related travels coming from China was 47,400 visitors, representing a sequential increase of 4.7% compared to the month of June 2024

Key highlights of the tourism statistics report for December 2023:

• Total international tourist arrivals increased by 139.5% to 5,453,231 visitors and arrivals from ASEAN increased by 121.4% to 3,549,025 visitors in 2023. For the month of December 2023, total international tourist arrivals was 535,788 visitors, representing a sequential increase of 5.0%, while arrivals from ASEAN was 334,772 visitors, representing a sequential increase of 6.3% compared to the month of November 2023
• Of the top 10 markets, Thailand was the highest at 33.4%, followed by Vietnam (18.7%), China (10.0%), Lao PDR (6.8%), U.S.A (3.4%), Korea (3.1%), Indonesia (2.3%), France (2.0%), U.K (1.8%), and Malaysia (1.6%)
• These top 10 markets accounted for 83.1% of total tourist arrivals, an increase of 138.2% to 4,533,997 visitors in 2023
• Arrivals via air and land / waterways increased by 135.8% to 1,866,231 visitors and 141.5% to 3,587,000 visitors in 2023 respectively. For the month of December 2023, arrivals via air and land / waterways were 193,108 and 342,680 visitors representing a sequential increase of 8.7% and 3.0% respectively compared to the month of November 2023
• Arrivals via Phnom Penh International Airport increased by 124.0% to 1,365,735 visitors in 2023. For the month of December 2023, arrivals via Phnom Penh International Airport was 131,985 visitors, representing a sequential increase of 9.7% compared to the month of November 2023
• Arrivals from China increased by 412.6% to 547,798 visitors in 2023. For the month of December 2023, arrivals from China was 49,548 visitors, representing a sequential increase of 10.9% compared to the month of November 2023
• International business-related travels into Cambodia increased by 134.6% to 1,011,274 visitors in 2023, with the top 5 markets coming from China (39.0%), Vietnam (21.2%), Indonesia (8.8%), Thailand (7.2%) and Taiwan (3.4%)
• International business-related travels coming from China increased by 407.8% to 394,042 visitors in 2023. For the month of December 2023, international business-related travels coming from China was 32,691 visitors, representing a sequential increase of 4.9% compared to the month of November 2023
